== Notability of the wiki == Being a contributor on the Minecraft Wiki I searched for the scrolls wiki in order to contribute to it as well, but what I landed on was not this wiki, it was another non-curse wiki. As far as I can see that wiki is multiple times better then this one, has a forum, and is mostly more known. The only reason I managed to find the wiki is by seeing there's a cobalt wiki by curse, and thinking - wait maybe a scrolls one too?? So I suggest this wiki should get a bit on a marketing push, maybe a little ad on the Minecraft wiki or an article on the Minecraft Forums.--Yurisho 20:09, 14 December 2011 (UTC) :If you have information to add to the wiki, feel free. I was unaware there was much more available than what we have. As it is, if you google "Scrolls Wiki", this is the first non "Elder Scrolls" result. --Wynthyst 03:09, 15 December 2011 (UTC) == Adding new scrolls == A set of step-by-step instructions for adding new scrolls would be very helpful. I was trying to add a relatively new scroll (Ripper) and managed to figure out that it needed a /data page, but that's about as far as I got. I seem to have set up the /data page correctly: Ripper/data but I don't know how to get it added to the List_of_scrolls and such. Will it update automatically, given enough time? I imagine that with a set of step-by-step instructions for adding scrolls, the database here would be updated much more quickly. Perhaps it could be added to the Help:Contents page, or linked from there? 98.27.60.200 06:07, 2 January 2014 (UTC) : Hello! You're absolutely right about that there should be some instructions about adding new scrolls (and actually updating existing ones). That was something I wanted to do (and should have done), but unfortunately I'm lacking the time to write them at the moment and nobody else is active enough on the wiki either. :( : For your information, you were right about using Template:Scroll data for creating data subpages. As for scroll pages themselves, they're using a combination of Template:Scroll page, Template:Scroll infobox, and Template:Scroll data's sub-templates which allow us to display data previously stored in /data subpages. I actually implemented a way to preload these pages with appropriate templates but it wasn't quite accessible, so I've just added a section about that in the documentation of Scroll data and Scroll page. : In order to update List of scrolls, and any such scroll table, one have to manually insert the new rows in Template:Scroll table. However, thanks to data storage subpages, only scrolls' name is to be specified in the table, other information is retrieved from these subpages. : I hope this helps... Creating help pages is definitely a thing to do, but I can't guarantee it to be done in the near future as there are still many things to update and improve on this wiki, and I unfortunately seem to be the only one to do it... :( However, if you feel confident enough with what I said, feel free to initiate them. I was planning to create two pages: Scrolls Wiki:Scroll pages for explaining the scroll page and data storage structure, and Help:Creating a scroll page with detailed steps about how to properly create these pages. A page with a list of actions to do when a new Scrolls version is released would probably be useful as well. That would include creating new pages and adding rows to the scrolls table as I said, but also updating the version history and add the release date to Template:History/row. : By the way, I created all scroll (and data) pages that were missing as of now. Some existing scrolls may not be up-to-date yet though (probably since 0.110), so feel free to update them as you can. : -- fomtg 23:42, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
